Post Autumn 2025 Budget Briefing

Post-Autumn 2025 Budget briefing (online)

Event Date

2 December 2025, 11:00 - 11:45am

Event Details

In a rare speech ahead of the Budget, the Chancellor has laid the ground for further tax increases. She has said that ‘everyone will have to contribute’ and so we anticipate taxes are going up with the possibility that she will target pensioners and those with ‘assets’. It looks like broken pledges are ahead as Rachel Reeves tries to fix our economy.

This is an important time to ensure that your financial planning is up to date and that you and your loved ones are protected as much as possible from future tax increases.

Our client Post Budget Briefing will be on 2 December at 11am and will last for approximately 45 minutes.

We are delighted to be joined by our guest speaker Anthony Willis, Senior Economist from Columbia Threadneedle Investments.

Anthony joined Columbia Threadneedle through the acquisition of BMO GAM (EMEA) in 2021, having previously been with BMO since 2007, which he joined via Thames River Capital and F&C Investments.

Anthony has 28 years of investment experience, of which the last 17 years have been spent focused on Asset Allocation. Anthony was previously employed by State Street and Credit Suisse. He holds the Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ), the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and a BA (Hons) in Economics & Politics from the University of Exeter.

Anthony sits within the wider Multi Asset Solutions team, responsible for £60bn+ of investments. Anthony provides daily and weekly updates and views for the wider investment team and attends the Asset Allocation Strategy Group [AASG], the Macro Research Group and the Valuation Research Group. Responsibility for the analysis of economic data, and economic forecasting is divided among colleagues within these groups. Anthony is able to distil economic events driving the markets in a way that people can understand and relate to so we are pleased that he is going to join us and give his take on the UK budget and other global economies.

Outside of work Anthony is a keen cyclist and an unpaid taxi driver to his 3 children! When he's not on the move he is doing DIY on his Victorian home and garden.
